This is a new place, it's only like seven years old. It was just very nice and I thought my mom would like it. They had a happy hour a couple of days a week and things like that. They had excursions, they had a movie room, they had a library and a craft room. They had a lot of things for the residents there. My sister and I joked about wanting to go there ourselves. Harmony at Harbour View was very, very nice. If your two-bedroom started at $3500 and if you got a spouse, then it went up another $1200 or $700 for the spouse to be there. It was pricier than the other place and what turns my wife off to all of them, not just this one, is the fact that you have to pay for your spouse. They had one-bedroom or two-bedroom, and they had a studio. The units that she showed us were very clean, ready to move in, and accommodating. They had a calendar that showed whatever was going on that week that we could participate in. Everybody that worked there, if they walked past or whatever, they spoke to you. They spoke to you and acknowledged that you were there. We also had an opportunity to have lunch to be able to taste the food. The young lady who showed us around was very knowledgeable and friendly. The staff was very willing to help and to assist. They have lots of choices. We liked the fact that Harmony at Harbour View was very clean when we went in. They can pick from the menu different things every day. They have a menu where the residents can pick from. It seems like they cared for the residents. They have a movie theater, and they have different activities going on all the time. They have a chapel (where they can go to church). Some residents were walking in the hall, going outside, and interacting with each other. They looked very comfortable and very nice. They have different levels of care in assisted living too. The thing I liked about it is that you could move from independent living, to assisted living, to memory care, all in the same facility. The staff was very courteous, and they answered all our questions it was very good. We were very impressed with the facility, and it had everything that we would need. The tour at Harmony at Morgantown was very good. They had transportation to appointments and grocery shopping downtown. They had a pub where they had happy hour several days a week for the residents, and that was wonderful. They had a movie theater and a game room to play cards and games. They have a restaurant-style dining room with menu choices. I left there so happy after viewing it because it was such a nice place.ĭespite the fact that my father wasn't physically able to be placed there, our tour guide reached out to us on several occasions just to check on how my father was. If it wasn't for the fact that my father's physical abilities would not allow him to go there, I would have placed him there in a heartbeat. It's an extremely reasonable price for such a great facility. Harmony at Morgantown is one of the most beautiful places for assisted living and independent living that I've seen. They were very human about the whole thing. They were not just trying to grow vegetables in rooms. This is a place designed to maintain people for a long time and maintain them in a good frame of mind. So it was not someplace that you want to blow off as just an institution. I did not try their food however, the menus reflected that they had bona fide chefs instead of cooks. They dug into a hill and then built the building, but the views off of the sorry of the one-bedroom apartments are pretty good even though they're views of a hillside. They have two dining rooms, one for assisted living and one for independent living. The gymnasium is a treadmill, bicycle and some other stuff, but they also had an onboard physical therapist who can take care of any physical therapy needs that anybody needs. For amenities, there's a beauty salon and activity rooms. He answered all the questions and showed me all the facilities. However, I am not a candidate for community living at this point in my life. The two bedrooms are probably double that. They have all your needs met, and everything is taken care of. Harmony at Morgantown was a wonderful place.
